As quickly as it begins, it’s almost over.  What a great season of riding we’ve been given.  I’m writing this in February, yet thinking ahead to April.  And all that’s left of this season to enjoy before then.  Hopefully between now and spring there will be lots more trail adventures for us all.  Thank you to everyone who has helped make this season a great one.  We’ve seen high membership numbers and high snow fall totals.  The trails have been excellent.  Thank you to the trail maintenance crew, the groomer operators, the cooks for our Supper on the Run, the bakers for our Pie Auction, those who opened up their homes (garages) for the meal stops, those who assisted with the auction, the sellers and the purchasers of our Club 100 tickets, all the bidders and buyers at the auction, those who pass through town and support the local businesses, the people who generously gave time and monetary donations and thank you to all of our club members.  We truly appreciate all of you and your support of our club!   It’s not too late to enjoy our well groomed trails, attend a meeting or join our exciting club.  If you haven’t yet done so, you can join PLSC by visiting  or contact us at The cost is $30 for a Family Membership, $50 for a Business Membership or $15 for an Associate Membership.

The Portage Lakers would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of club member and past groomer operator, Rick Grant of Saco.  With his unexpected passing in February, our thoughts and prayers were with Rick’s family, farm community and snowmobile buddies.  He will be greatly missed.

Upcoming PLSC Meetings:  6:30 PM at Dean’s Motor Lodge, Portage Lake –

March 3 and April 7

Election of Officers will take place during our April meeting.  Please let us know if you are willing to hold an officers position next season.

We look forward to seeing you at our meetings and events, as well as on the trails!  Enjoy!
